Different authors and teachers support different techniques for manifesting. I love variety – it means there’s something out there for everyone! Do what works for you! For me personally, I like a light, feel-good approach to manifesting. It just doesn’t work for me if I get too serious about it! Or if I try too hard and “effort” at it. And I mean that about pretty much everything in my life! Over time I have found a sweet recipe for manifesting that feels really wonderful to DO. And it also gets my head screwed on straight for the day, helping me create the kind of day I want to have and to feel. This simple 4-step process helps me move into a state of lightness and joy – which happens to be a very magnetic, positively attractive state of being. Abraham, one of my favorite manifesting teachers, says that if you get into a state of joy, you don’t really care if what you want to manifest ever comes! Because we all want to manifest stuff in our lives for one reason – we think we’ll feel better if we have it. So if you move into a state of joy, suddenly what you want to manifest becomes less important. Paradoxically, not caring so much if it comes often makes it come into your life even more easily. 🙂
In essence, all manifesting techniques are based on the idea that to manifest, we must direct our attention. “Thoughts become things.” “As you think, so shall you be.” “Energy flows where attention goes.” Sound familiar? It’s all about directing our thinking, directing our emotions, and teaching ourselves to train our attention in the direction we would like to go. All 4 parts of the recipe below are just ways to help you direct your attention. To train your thoughts toward what lights you up, so that energy can flow (and manifest) in the direction of your choosing.
I really enjoy this process shortly after I wake up. It reminds me of what’s important, first thing in the morning, and sets the tone for my day. But of course, you can do this 4-step, feel-good process for manifesting anytime it works for you. You can also take just one of the steps, or as many as you like. Remember, all of the steps are just different ways to help you direct your thoughts and emotions. Each can work magic on its own! You can write them down, say them aloud, or just feel into them and visualize them in your mind. And each takes just a few moments to do. Enjoy!
Take a deep breath in, close your eyes, and feel the center of your body. Now is a perfect time to remind yourself what your intentions are. What are your intentions for your day? Or maybe for a particular conversation you know you will have later today? What are your intentions for your body? What do you want for yourself today? More laughter? Ease? Flow in your work? Whatever it is that you would like for yourself today, just choose it. Set your compass by reminding yourself that you do in fact have intentions for yourself. For your day and your life! Setting intentions is like punching in the coordinates. It lines you up on your chosen course, and the wonderful system of your body/mind/spirit can now steer you there. Intentions can often sound like affirmations. However you want to phrase your intentions is just fine. It doesn’t matter, and any way you do it you are directing your energy and attention.
2. Wouldn’t it be awesome if……….
This is one of my favorites, because it invites the curious mind. It is creative playtime! Close your eyes, sit back, and play with this idea! Fill in the blank as many times as you want, and allow your mind to carry you forward and flesh out any idea that feels good. And it can be as “reality” based or as fantastical as you like. The purpose of this tool is to open up your curiosity, feel into what actually does bring you joy, expand your possibilities, and let go of rigid thinking and “rules.” All rules are off during this exercise of “Wouldn’t it be awesome if…..?!” As simple and child-like as this exercise is, it still directs your attention, thus works toward manifesting what you would like. It also releases nice, feel-good chemicals in your body! There’s that magnetic state of joy we talked about!
3. Counting Your Blessings
Whatever you pay attention to, you get more of. So why not start with the stuff you have already manifested? Gratitude goes a LONG way towards creating an abundant, happy life. Appreciation is a very high vibration. Take a few moments to appreciate all the things that are working in your life. Appreciate the mundane and the amazing. The people, car, home, job, situations, experiences. And yourself. It’s always a wonderful idea to appreciate yourself. Counting your blessings and appreciating your life sends the signal that you are ready for more. As Louise Hay says, “When you appreciate, you get more to appreciate.” It also helps you realize all the goodness that is already here for you to enjoy now!
4. Seek out feeling good
Probably the most valuable thing we can manifest is a positive state of emotion. Such as the state of happiness or appreciation. Manifesting states of emotion is a very high form of manifesting. That’s because in doing so you are changing your own personal vibration. You are jumping past any condition to make you feel good and just choosing to feel good. That’s Buddha stuff, baby. That’s empowerment. And it’s incredibly effective. If you decide to shift your perspective on LIFE and move through life in a state of joy, you have just instantaneously created a better life for yourself. Again, paradoxically, you open yourself to even more wonderful material realities. And how wonderful to have those things arrive in your life when you are already happy, open and able to fully appreciate them.
So, get happy! Step 4 is simply to seek out feeling good. Whatever that is for you. Be honest with yourself about what actually does uplift you. Whether it be listening to a particular kind of music, watching cute animal videos on Youtube, getting a strawberry ice cream cone with sprinkles, going for a walk on the beach, getting a massage, getting a book of jokes and sharing them, tickling your pets or your kids (or your mate!), watching a good movie, getting a pedicure with a crazy nail color, or……..?
Notice that feeling good on purpose often involves action, like the massage or the walk on the beach. This action is an important piece in manifesting what you like. But the point here is to take action that delights you. Remember, this is a recipe for feel-good manifesting! Whenever possible, take action that feels expansive, playful, or otherwise positive. That kind of inspired action lines you up with your own happiness – including what you specifically would like to manifest. Be open to inspired action of all kinds – at work and at play. Be curious about feeling good – that’s the road to more feeling good. 😉
I hope you have fun playing with this recipe. Be light about it. Enjoy it. All is well.
