Looking back on my day, I can really choose what my “take home” content is. I can “harvest” anything I like from my day, and allow the rest to fall away. Whatever I give attention to and “count” becomes my fruit. And by gathering up the fruits of my day that I like, I am shaping my mind, my heart, and my reality. As they say, count your blessings and they will multiply. 🙂
For example, today has had a lot of fun fruit to gather up! The amazing food I had for breakfast, while I watched the hummingbirds sip nectar from the feeders; giggling with a dear friend over an amazing conversation; tasting that friend’s delicious coffee with it’s yummy vanilla-coconut creamer; the sales clerk who went out of her way to help me, then expressed delight over my shoes; maneuvering my grocery cart around a twenty something man and having him pull up short, smile a genuine smile and look me openly in the eyes and say with warmth “How are you today?”; taking a walk and marveling at the absolutely perfect weather; taking that same walk and marvelling over how quiet the streets were and that I only saw 3 cars on the road at 2pm on a Saturday; despte the low number of cars on the roads, one of them had this treasure – as it drove past me a young boy was leaning his head out the window with his pink tongue out as though he were feeling for the air with his tongue!; the bite of chocolate I just ate (OMG); the truly delicious, nourishing testimonials that came into my in box today as I am gathering testimonials for my upcoming new website; and more and more and more…..
And that was just TODAY!
I know that this summer – and every season – has held challenges and yielded some uncomfortable crops! BUT – we can choose to let the chaff of those lie, and focus on harvesting the enormous joys, accomplishments, breakthroughs, laughter, and wonder that the season blessed us with. We’re now officially into the Fall season, so I invite you to gather up your gladness and riches with conscious choice, and celebrate them consciously too.
Harvest Happy and Happy Harvesting!
